How Can I Help?
There are plenty of opportunities to help Timberland fight the battle to save our natural resources; from participating in an event to sponsoring an event, we need your help!  There is also the opportunity to join our team by signing up for a membership; this way you will know about every event and opportunity to help!  Talk to your family, friends, and co-workers about Timberland...send them to our website.  Below are a few more areas you can help:
"Every time I've done the right thing for the environment, I've made a profit." ~Yvon Chouinard1% For the Planet. Businesses donating 1% of sales to the natural environment
Each Business Alliance member contributes 1% of its revenues to Timberland RC&D. In an effort to reduce attendant bureaucracy and encourage members to develop independent relationships with the groups they support, member companies disburse their own contributions. To maintain membership and use of the 1% FTP member logo, 1% FTP annually certifies that member companies have granted at least 1% of their sales to approved environmental organizations.

Joining the 1% FTP business alliance is easy and involves only a few steps.  Go to www.onepercentfortheplanet.org.

Visit the website of renowned photographer Jim Hegarty and purchase some of his artwork: Mr. Hegarty has graciously agreed to forward 100% of proceeds to help the sensible and important conservation projects of Timberland RC&D.  Make sure you tell Mr. Hegarty that you would like 100% of your proceeds to support Timberland's efforts to improve, properly develop and sensibly use our natural and human resources.  The website is www.mesart.com/civiljim

What if Timberland RC&D earned a penny every time you searched the internet?  Well, now we can!

Goodsearch.com is a new search engined powered by Yahoo that donates half it's revenue to a charity of your choice.  You use it just like you use any other search engine and becasue it's powered by Yahoo, you get great results!

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Timberland RC&D (Grand Rapids) as the charity you want to support.  Just 500 of us searching the internet four times a day will raise about $7300 a year without anyone spending a dime, so spread the word!

Timberland is collecting used cell phones.  A donation will be given to Timberland for each and every cell phone collected - regardless of age or condition.

Recycling cell phones benefits more than just the environment.  They are used for social good as many phones are donated for use as (emergency only) 911 services, providing battered adults, children, and senior citizens with a direct link to needed communication.  Timberland wants to take a leading role in assisting the community with technology recycling.

Bring your used cell phones to us or go to the website below and print off a packing slip and tax-donation receipt.  Be sure to list Timberland RC&D as your charity; our charity code is CR/TIM.
